Senda Red Wine
Characteristics of the Senda wine Varieties: Garnacha from the "Corzos", "El Camino", "Boquerón", "La Coja" and "Poniente" plots. Granitic soil with a sandy-loam texture (90-93% sand), pH 6.5. Plantation: bush training with 1,450 vines/ha. Yield for the vintage: 2,220 kg/Ha. Organic viticulture. Vinification: Destemming and previous maceration. Fermentation with its own yeasts and gentle pumping over. Malolactic fermentation in tanks without adding bacteria. Aging was carried out for ten months in French oak barrels of different uses and sizes, depending on each plot. Assemblage in tank until bottling without fining or filtering. Bottling date: February 2015. Serving temperature: 15 -17 ºC. Tasting notes: Very fresh and aromatic Senda 2012. It faithfully represents the spirit of the Las Moradas garnachaterruño. Cherry color. Very varietal Garnacha with floral aromas, plum, scrubland and a very mineral background, characteristic of the granitic soil, with the variety prevailing over subtle wood. The finish is long and lingering on the palate.

The winery is located at an altitude of 870 m, on the threshold of the Sierra de Gredos, in a unique spot in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, southwest of Madrid. Around it, 21 ha. of old Garnacha vineyards in dry land and settled on a fine gravel soil of granitic origin, with low grape yields and in an austere climate. The wine obtained tries to capture the essence of Grenache in these terroirs in the most natural and respectful way possible.
